I am curious about this new book.

Not a chance. I doubt I’d buy it even if friends raved about it. She had problems with continuity and plot building before. She also was a complete Mary Sue in that ‘she’ was Hermione and her husband was Ron.

In a way, I feel nervous for her. Everything she writes has such enormous expectations. If her work is just good but not great, there could be a major let down.
Would I purchase the book solely on the strength of her previous work? While I’d be very curious, as Joe mentions above, I’d wait for the reviews to come forward.

Not sure. I’d have to read/learn much more about it. I don’t usually read fiction. The Harry Potter series was a rare exception (along with Tolkien). If she were to write her memoir, that I’d pick up.

I think I would buy it if I thought it looked good and I liked the genre, but if it sounded totally not my type of thing then I would probably give it a miss.

I will purchase it. Her previous books have been good enough for me to buy it. Reviewers might not like it because it’s not Potter, but I don’t care what reviewers say, they don’t know what I like.
